1. Who We Are

Teacherfy ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered document generation tool for K–12 educators. We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and applicable U.S. education privacy laws including FERPA and COPPA.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: name, email address, and authentication details.
  • Usage data: document types generated, frequency of use, and subscription status.
  • Document content: the text you enter into forms and the documents generated. This content may include student first names. We strongly advise you not to enter full student names, ID numbers, or any other personally identifiable student information.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and cookies (see Section 7).

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the Teacherfy service.
  • To manage your account and subscription.
  • To send service-related communications (e.g. billing, security alerts).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your document content to train AI models.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA or UK, our legal bases are: (a) performance of a contract when providing the service; (b) legitimate interests for analytics and security; (c) your consent for optional cookies and marketing communications.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Generated documents are stored until you delete them or close your account. You may delete individual documents at any time from Document History.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Data portability (GDPR).
  • Opt out of sale of personal information (CCPA — we do not sell data).

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. With your consent, we may also use analytics cookies to understand how the service is used. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the cookie banner or by emailing us.

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following sub-processors: Base44 (hosting and infrastructure), Wix Payments (payment processing). Each sub-processor is contractually bound to protect your data.

9. Children's Privacy

Teacherfy is designed for use by educators aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from students. Student data entered into documents (e.g. first names) is the teacher's responsibility under FERPA.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you by email or in-app notice of material changes.
